Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
pkgtree is designed to collect as little as possible. There are no user accounts, no login, and no tracking cookies. This policy explains the limited data involved in running the service.
Package lookups
When you look up a package, the package name, version, or URL you enter is sent to our server and to the relevant public package registries in order to fetch and display public data. We do not require or ask for any personal information to do this.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand overall usage — for example, which pages are visited. This is intended to be anonymous and does not use tracking cookies or build cross-site advertising profiles. See Vercel's documentation for details on what it collects.
IP addresses
Your IP address is processed transiently to apply rate limits and protect the service from abuse. It is held only in memory for that purpose and is not used to build a profile of you or sold to anyone.
Your browser
Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Data we don't collect or sell
We do not sell your data. We do not maintain personal accounts or profiles for visitors. Standard server and hosting logs may be generated by our infrastructure providers in the ordinary course of operating the site.
